A shift pattern does not have to fit a Monday-to-Friday week to make sense. Keep your own working calendar together, whether your hours change each week or follow a repeating cycle.
Core shifts, calendar and optional reminders are available on Free. Both Free and Premium are ad-free.
Record the shift you actually need
Create day, night, overnight, rest and custom shift types. Save start and finish times, choose paid or unpaid breaks, and add optional notes only when they help. A compact code such as D12 describes the scheduled span, not a promise of twelve paid hours.
A personal view, not another employer system
DutyNest is for your own planning. It does not allocate staff, approve attendance or replace an official roster. Check changes against your employer's published rota before relying on your personal copy. You can start using core local tools without creating an account.
Useful across different working weeks
A nurse can keep a changing week visible; a transport worker can record an overnight finish; a hospitality worker can add a late shift without forcing it into a fixed office timetable. These are examples of use, not employer integrations or endorsements.
A practical way to start
- Check the official date, start and finish before adding a shift.
- Choose the shift type and record any break accurately.
- Review the calendar and enable optional local reminders if useful.
Does a reminder replace checking my rota?
No. Reminders depend on your device permissions and settings. Always check your official rota and any later changes.
